Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives
Country music's great custodian, rhinestones and a Telecaster, fronting one of the sharpest bands anyone has put on a stage.
About Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives
Marty Stuart grew up in Philadelphia, Mississippi, and was playing mandolin in Lester Flatt's band while still a teenager. He later spent years in Johnny Cash's band before scoring solo country hits around 1990 with 'Hillbilly Rock' and 'Tempted'. He plays Clarence White's original B-Bender Telecaster and has collected thousands of costumes, instruments and manuscripts from country music history.
Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives features guitarist Kenny Vaughan and drummer Harry Stinson. The band ranges across honky-tonk, bluegrass, gospel and twangy surf instrumentals, and it was the house band on The Marty Stuart Show on RFD-TV. Records with the group include Ghost Train, Way Out West and Altitude. Stuart is a longtime member of the Grand Ole Opry.
