Voodoo Visionary

Voodoo Visionary is an Atlanta six-piece whose improvised dance music draws on Parliament-Funkadelic and the Meters, the Grateful Dead and the Allman Brothers Band, and the electric work of Miles Davis and Herbie Hancock. Guitar leads and vocals sit on top of the keyboards and rhythm section, and the players have spent more than a decade together working out the songs and the long improvisations.

The lineup is Trent Gilson (bass), Scott MacDonald (vocals), Jose Rivera (percussion), Mac Schmitz (drums), Marcus White (keys) and Mike Wilson (guitar). The band released its debut album, Spirit of the Groove, in March 2015 and followed it with Off The Ground in February 2017. It has toured nationally and served as direct support for Col. Bruce Hampton, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe with Jimmy Herring, TAUK and Big Something.
