Polyrhythmics + Adryon de León

Polyrhythmics formed in Seattle in 2010 and spent most of their career as an instrumental band, playing a mix of funk, soul, Afrobeat, R&B and psychedelic rock. A self-titled debut came out in 2011, followed by Octagon in 2015, Caldera in 2017, Man from the Future in 2020 and Life from Below in 2025.

Singer Adryon de León started out as a guest at their shows, including a New Year's Eve concert, and over about four years she became a full partner in the band. Her first recorded appearance with them was "Smoke and Mirrors" on Life from Below. "Got to Be for Something" is the first single from a collaborative album and draws on deep soul in the vein of Aretha Franklin.
