About Zé Ibarra
Zé Ibarra first drew wide attention as one of the four singers in Bala Desejo, the Rio de Janeiro group he formed with Dora Morelenbaum, Julia Mestre and Lucas Nunes. Their 2022 album Sim Sim Sim, a bright, harmony-heavy take on 1970s Brazilian pop, won the Latin Grammy for Best Portuguese Language Contemporary Pop Album.
His solo album Marquês, 256. (2023) works at a much quieter scale, built largely from his falsetto-leaning voice and acoustic guitar, and mixes his own songs with material from the MPB songbook.
