A pagode singer with a pop crossover, from group work to a solo career and national television.

Marvvila, born Kassia Freire Marvila in 1999 in the Bento Ribeiro neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro's North Zone, began singing at five years old. She started out performing gospel music at her church before friends introduced her to pagode, the genre that would define her career.

In 2016 she competed on The Voice Brasil, initially picked for Claudia Leitte's team before being 'stolen' onto Lulu Santos's team; she sang covers including 'Killing Me Softly with His Song' before her elimination in the second Live Coaches' Battle. Around this period she also spent time with the group Vou pro Sereno before building a solo career.

In 2020 she was featured on Ludmilla's 'Não é por maldade', from the EP Numanice, a partnership that began that year; the same year she signed with Warner Music Brasil and released her debut single, 'Dizendo por Dizer'.

She reached a much larger audience in 2023 as a contestant on Big Brother Brasil 23, from which she was evicted in week eleven after a vote alongside three other finalists. That same year she released two EPs, Minha VVez and Só VVamo, having already put out her first live DVD, Marvvila na Área, in 2022, with guest appearances from Dilsinho, Xande de Pilares, Belo and Sorriso Maroto.

Her records push pagode toward pop arrangements while keeping the cavaquinho and percussion core intact, and she has spoken about wanting to inspire other female artists, particularly Black women, in a genre still dominated by men. She lives in the Vila da Penha neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro with her fiancée, Cristiano Santana.
