About GRRL x Made of Oak
Made of Oak is the solo name of Nick Sanborn, who formed Sylvan Esso in Durham with singer Amelia Meath in the early 2010s and handles the duo's synths and production. Before that he played bass in Milwaukee bands, including Decibully. As Made of Oak he works in a looser, more instrumental space than Sylvan Esso's pop songs, closer to club and ambient electronics. In GRRL x Made of Oak, Sanborn trades off with GRRL in a shared set.
