Less Than Jake formed in Gainesville, Florida in 1992 and became one of the more durable bands of the 1990s ska-punk wave. The core lineup has long centred on singer-guitarist Chris DeMakes and bassist Roger Lima, both of whom sing, with a horn section built around trombone and saxophone.
Their sound pairs fast, melodic punk with brass hooks and group vocals, heard on albums such as Pezcore, Losing Streak, Hello Rockview and Anthem. The band has toured more or less continuously for three decades, and their shows are known for confetti, banter and audience participation bits worked in between songs.
