About John Mayer
John Mayer was born in Connecticut in 1977, studied briefly at Berklee College of Music and started out on the Atlanta coffeehouse circuit. His debut album Room for Squares (2001), with 'No Such Thing' and 'Your Body Is a Wonderland', made him a pop radio fixture. He then formed the John Mayer Trio with Pino Palladino and Steve Jordan, a blues-rock outfit captured on the live album Try!.
Continuum brought those two sides together, and later records moved toward the Laurel Canyon folk of Born and Raised and the glossy eighties soft rock of Sob Rock. Since 2015 he has played lead guitar in Dead & Company alongside Grateful Dead members Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann.
