About Heart
Heart grew out of the Seattle rock scene in the early 1970s; Ann Wilson joined an existing group and her sister Nancy followed in 1974. Their debut, Dreamboat Annie, was first released in 1975 on Mushroom Records, a Vancouver label, and the 1977 album Little Queen carried 'Barracuda.' The early records mixed hard rock riffing with acoustic, folk-tinged passages.
After a commercial slump, the band reinvented itself for the mid-1980s with a glossier sound on the 1985 album Heart, which produced 'What About Love' and the chart-topping 'These Dreams.' 'Alone' reached number one in 1987. Heart was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013.
