About No Doubt
No Doubt formed in Anaheim, California, in 1986, playing ska and new wave in the Orange County club scene. Gwen Stefani moved from backing vocals to lead, with Tony Kanal on bass, Tom Dumont on guitar and Adrian Young on drums. Tragic Kingdom, released in 1995, turned the band from a local act into an international one.
Return of Saturn brought more introspective songwriting, and Rock Steady worked with Jamaican producers including Sly & Robbie on singles such as 'Hey Baby' and 'Hella Good'. The band went on a long hiatus during Stefani's solo career, returning with Push and Shove in 2012 and reuniting again more recently for live shows.
