Colorado producer with a filthy, funk-inflected take on heavy bass — wonky, wobbling drops with an audible sense of humor.
Dirt Monkey is the project of Patrick Megeath, a producer based in Colorado who works in dubstep and other forms of heavy bass music. His tracks are built around bouncing, heavily modulated basslines, and often incorporate funk and hip-hop rhythms alongside the drops, giving the material a looser and more playful feel than much of the genre. He has released through bass-focused labels including SubCarbon and Circus Records, and has collaborated with a number of other producers working in the same American bass scene.
