Scandinavian duo with a bright, hyperactive take on bass music and a big Monstercat catalogue — neon drops with pop bones.

Pegboard Nerds began as a partnership between Norwegian producer Alexander Odden and Danish producer Michael Parsberg, who first met in 2005 and started recording together in 2012. Their name is an anagram of their surnames, Odden and Parsberg. Both had been producing music individually since the 1990s before joining forces.

Their catalogue runs across electro house, dubstep, drumstep and glitch hop, generally built around bright synth leads, vocal hooks and sharply compressed drops, with pop song structures underneath the heavier sound design.

Much of their catalogue appeared on Monstercat, the label closely tied to that strand of online bass music in the 2010s, and Pegboard Nerds became one of its most prolific acts, also producing remixes for other electronic artists and collaborating widely within the same scene.

In 2015 they released Pink Cloud, a charity album supporting breast cancer research that reached number 2 on iTunes Dance Albums and the Top 10 of Billboard's Dance chart. Their collaboration with Jauz, 'Get on Up', ranked among the year's top bass house tracks, while 'Superstar', made with Nghtmre and Krewella, topped Beatport's Dubstep chart and reached the Billboard Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart in 2016.

Also in 2016 they released 'Deep In The Night' with Montreal producer Snails. Their 2017 EP Nerds by Nature, followed by a remix EP, reached number 12 on Billboard's Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart and drew generally positive reviews.
