UK producer whose mid-2010s dubstep is still the reference point for a whole strand of the genre — wobble-era heaviness, undimmed.

Zomboy is the alias of Joshua Mellody, born Joshua Paul Jenkins in 1989, an English producer from Rochester, Kent, whose mascot is a zombie. Before adopting the name, he recorded electronicore under the name Place Your Bet$, releasing a self-titled demo album in 2010. He studied Music Production at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, and cites Skrillex, Reso, Rusko and Bare Noize as influences.

He debuted as Zomboy in 2011 with the EP Game Time on his own Never Say Die Records, which spent more than eight weeks in the Beatport dubstep top five. By the end of that year his music and remixes were being licensed to compilations on labels including Warner and Ministry of Sound. A second EP, The Dead Symphonic EP, followed in 2012, and the single "Here to Stay," with Lady Chann, appeared on No Tomorrow Records in 2013.

His productions favour dense, distorted bass design, sharp drops and short vocal samples, drawing on drumstep, glitch hop and trap tempos alongside dubstep's halftime feel. The two-part Reanimated EP arrived in 2013, and his debut album, The Outbreak, followed on Never Say Die Records in August 2014, placing him within the wave of heavy, aggressive dubstep that spread from the UK to North American festivals.

Further EPs followed, including Neon Grave in 2016 and its remix companion the next year. He later launched his own imprint, Rott N' Roll Records, releasing Rott N' Roll Part 1 in 2022 alongside a US tour, with remixes issued that November. He remains a touring DJ, with sets built around the same heavy, high-impact sound as his records.
