Half of Gud Vibrations — heavy festival trap with a melodic streak that keeps widening, drops built for fireworks cues.

NGHTMRE is Tyler Marenyi, born in 1990 and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he played tennis at North Raleigh Christian Academy. He studied finance at Elon University before moving to Los Angeles to pursue music, then enrolled at Icon Collective Music Production School, where he met the two producers who would become Slander.

He started out making trap and house remixes of tracks by Tiësto, Rae Sremmurd and Skrillex, and drew attention when Skrillex played one of his own productions during a DJ set. He was signed to Diplo's Mad Decent label, which released his first original track, "Street".

His productions combine trap rhythms with dubstep-scale drops and, increasingly, melodic and future-bass elements, and he has collaborated widely with vocalists and other producers. He is closely associated with Slander, with whom he released the debut EP Nuclear Bonds and later founded the Gud Vibrations label and event series, built around large-format sound design for main-stage rooms.

His 2016 self-titled EP charted on Billboard's Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart. His collaborations since have included "Superstar" with Pegboard Nerds and Krewella on Monstercat, "Need You" with Dillon Francis on Mad Decent, "Feel Your Love" with Flux Pavilion on Circus Records, "Stronger" with the rapper Afro, "Frontlines" with Zeds Dead on Deadbeats, and "Click Clack" with LOUDPVCK on Skrillex's Owsla label.
