JSTJR is the project of a Boston-based producer and DJ who works in the broad territory sometimes called global bass, drawing on moombahton, Jersey club, baile funk and trap. His sets and productions tend to prioritise percussion and tempo shifts over melody, moving between rhythms borrowed from Latin American and Caribbean club traditions and the harder edges of American festival bass music. He has been active in the moombahton scene since its early years and has released through a number of dance labels associated with that sound.
