Imminence

Imminence formed in Trelleborg, in the far south of Sweden, in 2010. Singer Eddie Berg doubles on violin, and the instrument sits inside the songs alongside guitarist Harald Barrett's riffs, carrying melodies between clean choruses and heavy breakdowns. Barrett also handles much of the band's production.

The band built its following over several albums, including Turn the Light On, Heaven in Hiding and The Black, each one pushing harder at both extremes: bigger, more orchestral melodic passages and heavier, more abrasive low end. Berg's vocals move from soft, wounded singing to full screams, and the lyrics dwell on grief, depression and loss.
