About Bullet For My Valentine
Bullet For My Valentine grew out of Jeff Killed John, a covers and nu-metal band formed by school friends in Bridgend, and took its current name in 2003. Singer and guitarist Matt Tuck and lead guitarist Michael 'Padge' Paget have been the constant core of the line-up, trading the harmonised leads and solos that sit underneath Tuck's switch between screamed verses and clean choruses.
Their 2005 debut The Poison set the template, and 2008's Scream Aim Fire pushed further toward thrash and classic heavy metal. Later records such as Fever, Venom, Gravity and the 2021 self-titled album moved between heavier and more polished approaches, while songs like 'Waking the Demon' and 'Your Betrayal' stayed fixtures of the live set.
