About Fleetwood Mac
Fleetwood Mac formed in London in 1967 around guitarist Peter Green, drummer Mick Fleetwood and bassist John McVie, whose surnames gave the band its name. The early lineup recorded electric blues and instrumentals such as 'Albatross' and 'Oh Well', and Green wrote 'Black Magic Woman', later a hit for Santana. After Green left in 1970, the band went through several lineups before settling in California.
Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks joined in 1975, alongside keyboardist and singer Christine McVie. That lineup made Rumours in 1977, written while couples within the band were splitting up, and its songs 'Dreams', 'Go Your Own Way' and 'The Chain' carry that tension openly. Rumours became one of the best-selling albums ever. Tusk and Tango in the Night followed. After Christine McVie's death in 2022, Stevie Nicks said the band could not go on without her.
