Argentine duo who treat trap, funk and stadium rock as one costume box — absurdist, immaculately played, and far stranger live than on record.

CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso are the stage names of Catriel Guerreiro and Ulises Guerriero, an Argentine duo from Buenos Aires who work across Latin trap, funk, rock and pop without settling in any of them. The two met as six-year-olds and began collaborating in 2010; Guerreiro studied at a Buenos Aires music school, Guerriero trained on violin from age six. Both had solo careers, recording individually with producer Bizarrap and working with artists such as Lali, Tini and Duki, before pairing up.

Their joint material combines heavily processed vocals and trap rhythms with live instrumentation, brass and guitar solos, often played straight-faced alongside deliberately absurd lyrics and costumes, drawing on jazz, house and various electronic styles along the way.

They reached a much wider audience in 2024 with a widely shared NPR Tiny Desk concert, which showcased the full-band arrangements and comic stage manner that define their live shows. The performance's success shaped their EP Papota, released in March 2025, which folded the Tiny Desk recordings themselves into a set of new songs and an accompanying short film.

Papota brought ten nominations at that year's Latin Grammys, and the duo won five, including Best Alternative Music Album, Best Alternative Song and Best Pop Song, while their producers were named Producer of the Year.

They followed the album with a sixty-date world tour through Latin America, Europe, Asia and North America, appeared on The Tonight Show as only the second Argentine act ever to do so, and were booked as the opening act for the Latin American dates of Kendrick Lamar's Grand National Tour.
