About Nick Shoulders
Nick Shoulders comes from Fayetteville, Arkansas, and sharpened his act playing on the streets of New Orleans. His songs draw on old-time string-band music and early country records, delivered with a yodel that he uses as freely as other singers use falsetto.
Records such as Okay, Crawdad. and All Bad keep the arrangements lean and acoustic, while the lyrics take on rural poverty, work and the land with a politics that grew out of the DIY punk scene he came up in.
