Kashus Culpepper

Kashus Culpepper is from Alabama and first sang in church as a child. He did not pick up a guitar until 2020, when he was deployed with the US Navy in Rota, Spain, and learned to play so he could cover songs at bonfires on base. Back home he worked the dive bars of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, writing his own material as he went.

His music draws on country, soul, blues, folk and Southern rock. He was selling out club shows across the South before he had officially released a song, which led to a deal with Big Loud Records. He has toured with Leon Bridges, Sierra Ferrell and Darius Rucker, and his debut album is Act I.
