Arizona-raised songwriter who broke through online — heartbreak country sung with a crack left in it.

Avery Anna Rhoton grew up in Flagstaff, Arizona, singing in church as a child and writing her first songs around fifth grade after teaching herself guitar. A journal she received after being baptised at eight years old later became a source for the lyrics that would define her writing.

During the COVID-19 pandemic she posted a cover of Christina Aguilera's 'Say Something,' recorded in her bathtub for the acoustics, which went viral on TikTok. Matt Thomas of Parmalee passed the video to manager David Fanning, who signed her and co-wrote 'Narcissist' using entries from her journal.

She moved to Nashville at seventeen in 2021 and signed with Warner Music Nashville the following year, making her Grand Ole Opry debut in September 2022. Her debut EP, Mood Swings, came out that October, followed by the full-length Breakup Over Breakfast in 2024, on which she co-wrote all seventeen songs with collaborators including Parmalee, Hillary Lindsey, Liz Rose and Lori McKenna.

Anna co-wrote and features on Sam Barber's 'Indigo,' which reached the top ten of the Hot Country Songs chart and crossed onto the Hot 100 and the UK singles chart. Her second album, Let Go Letters, released in 2025, was built from letters fans had written at her shows describing what they needed to let go of.
