North Carolina songwriter with an unhurried, warm-grained Americana voice; he self-produced Heavy Thrill at the Cash Cabin and put it out on his own label.

Caleb Caudle grew up in North Carolina and has been releasing records steadily since the early 2010s, working in a lineage of Southern songwriting that leans more toward mood and phrasing than punchlines. Albums such as Carolina Ghost and Crushed Coins established a template he has largely kept: mid-tempo tunes, unfussy country instrumentation, and a light, conversational vocal delivery. He later recorded at the Cash Cabin in Hendersonville, Tennessee, drawing on Nashville players while continuing to write about place, family and the passage of time.
