Connecticut band working the heavy end of metalcore, with hardcore-scene pacing underneath the riffs and a pit-first approach to arrangement.

Boundaries formed in Hartford, Connecticut in 2013, when guitarist Zadak Brooks put together musicians from a local band that had just broken up. Early singles followed, including 'Two Faced' in 2014, sung by original vocalist Jake Buzzell before Matthew McDougal took over as the group's full-time frontman.

Their material draws on the heavier, more metallic side of metalcore, with the tempos and blunt structuring of hardcore underpinning the riffs. Songs are built around breakdowns and short, direct arrangements rather than extended melodic passages, giving their live sets a pit-first shape.

The band signed to Unbeaten Records in 2018 and released the EP My Body in Bloom the following year. Their debut full-length, Your Receding Warmth, followed in 2020, promoted by three singles each paired with a music video directed by Erick Easterday.

A second album, Burying Brightness, arrived in 2022 through 3DOT Recordings, released shortly after founding guitarist Zadak Brooks left the band and was replaced by Cody DelVecchio. A further album, Death Is Little More, followed on the same label in 2024, preceded by singles including 'Easily Erased.'

In 2026, Boundaries signed to Sumerian Records, teasing new material with the song 'Skies Cast Amber Black' ahead of its release. The signing marked a new label home after years split between Unbeaten Records and 3DOT Recordings.
