Memphis heavyweight with a gravel-flat delivery — street trap that trades melody for sheer weight and gets away with it.

Big30, born Rodney Lamont Wright Jr. in Memphis, Tennessee, came up through the same circle as Pooh Shiesty and the Bread Gang camp, appearing on each other's records repeatedly. His profile rose in 2021 when he was featured on Pooh Shiesty's single "Neighbors," which reached number 51 on the Billboard Hot 100.

His style leans on a flat, unhurried Memphis cadence set against sparse, bass-heavy trap production, with detail-driven street narratives rather than hooks built for singing along. He records in the tradition of Memphis rap's blunter side.

Much of his catalogue has arrived through mixtapes and collaborations rather than long gaps between albums. His debut mixtape, King of Killbranch, released in 2021, carried guest verses from Lil Durk, Future, Quavo, Moneybagg Yo, Pooh Shiesty, Big Homiie G, Yo Gotti and Offset.

In 2020, Gucci Mane publicly called Wright out over social media posts, a dispute resolved quickly enough for Wright to later appear on Gucci Mane's 2021 single "Shit Crazy." That same year Wright was arrested in Birmingham, Alabama, on drug and firearm charges while traveling from Memphis to Atlanta.

In April 2026, Wright and eight other men, including Pooh Shiesty, were arrested and charged with kidnapping and conspiracy to commit kidnapping in connection with an alleged ambush and robbery of several music-industry figures, among them Gucci Mane, in Dallas, Texas.
