BossMan Dlow was born Devante Milan McCreary on August 31, 1998, in Port Salerno, on Florida's Treasure Coast. His father worked as a truck driver, and he has credited his brother Tory with pushing him toward music. He began rapping in 2019 while serving time in county jail on cocaine charges, and his early tracks first caught on in Tallahassee before spreading statewide.

He broke through in 2024 with "Get In With Me," a track built on a simple, insistent beat and a conversational, taunting flow. The song began as a freestyle on the Jacksonville-based series Kreepin Through the Streetz, then spread on TikTok and Instagram, helped along by a viral clip tied to a public feud involving Rick Ross's family, before reaching number 49 on the Hot 100.

His appeal rests largely on delivery and phrasing: dense boasts, abrupt asides and a tone closer to trash talk than to melody. His debut mixtape, Too Slippery, appeared in January 2023; Alamo Records signed him that summer and reissued it as 2 Slippery. Follow-up singles "Mr Pot Scraper" and the mixtape Mr Beat the Road arrived in early 2024, alongside a GloRilla remix of "Finesse" and a featured verse on Ciara's "Run It Up."

His debut album, Dlow Curry, released in December 2024 with guest spots from Babyface Ray, French Montana, GloRilla, Ice Spice, Lil Baby and NoCap, and reached number 36 on the Billboard 200; a deluxe edition followed in 2025 adding Gucci Mane. A second album, Chicken Talkin Bastard, arrived in 2026.

He has released a run of mixtapes and guest verses since, working within Florida's contemporary trap scene while keeping the loose, off-the-cuff feel of his early material. He cites Wiz Khalifa, Jeezy, Lil Wayne and Future among his influences and calls his own songs simply motivation music.
