Miami producer working the heavier, low-slung end of bass music — sound design built for big systems rather than headphones.

Benda is a dubstep producer based in Miami, working in the heavier corner of bass music where riddim, deep dubstep and detailed sound design overlap. His tracks tend to be built around slow, weighty low-end and sharply processed bass patches, with arrangements that leave space for the sub rather than crowding it with melody.

He came up through the wave of American producers who took dubstep's UK template toward denser, more percussive territory, and has released through labels associated with that scene, including Never Say Die. Live, Benda's material is aimed squarely at large rigs, where the layering and movement in the bass tones register most clearly.
