BadKlaat is the alias of British producer Sam Lomas, who became a recognisable name in dubstep around the turn of the 2010s. His productions are built around tightly programmed mid-range basslines — synth patches that snarl and stutter in short, percussive bursts — with an emphasis on clean, aggressive sound design rather than atmosphere or dub-derived space. He has released through labels associated with the heavier end of UK bass music and worked frequently within the Never Say Die orbit, and his DJ sets follow the same approach, favouring fast cuts between high-impact drops.
