UK dance-pop craftsman — glossy, feel-everything disco-house built for golden hour, collaborator to half of pop's A-list.

SG Lewis, born Samuel George Lewis in Reading, England, on 9 July 1994, began playing in bands as a teenager before turning to remixing. He drew on the introspective pop of Bon Iver and James Blake alongside club-focused hip-hop from Timbaland, The Neptunes and Common, posting early tracks online and building a following. That work led to a DJ residency at Chibuku Club in Liverpool, where he shared bills spanning house, dubstep, techno and drum'n'bass.

In 2014 he signed to PMR Records, the label behind Jessie Ware and Disclosure, after a single meeting persuaded the company to sign him on the spot. Disclosure noticed him early on and brought him to play alongside them at a historic Ibiza venue. His first EPs, Shivers in 2015 and Yours in 2016, introduced his method of building tracks around guest singers, including Louis Mattrs, JP Cooper and an uncredited Raye on "Yours".

Lewis later signed to Virgin EMI and set to work on a debut album released across three connected EPs, Dusk, Dark and Dawn. Dusk arrived in April 2018, led by singles "Aura", featuring J Warner, and "Coming Up". The full album, Times, pushed further into disco and funk textures, and he has kept working across dance and pop since.

Alongside his own records, Lewis has built a substantial career as a collaborator and producer, working with Dua Lipa among many others, and pairing with Clairo on "Better" and AlunaGeorge on "Hurting" during sessions in Los Angeles. He later released the collaborative project Silk with Nile Rodgers. His sets and records favour warm, live-sounding instrumentation, bass guitar, keys and strings, arranged over four-to-the-floor programming.
