Searows
Alec Duckart's hushed, close-miked indie folk. The 2023 debut Guard Dog is quiet guitar and plain-spoken sadness.
About Searows
Searows is the recording name of Alec Duckart, a songwriter from Portland, Oregon. The songs are built around fingerpicked acoustic guitar and soft, layered vocals, with lyrics that dwell on family, self-doubt and the slow work of getting through a bad stretch.
Duckart found much of his early audience online through self-released singles before Guard Dog came out. Listeners and critics have tended to place Searows alongside Phoebe Bridgers and Elliott Smith for the hushed delivery and the plain, unadorned writing.
