Korzus
One of Brazilian thrash's founding bands, active since the early 1980s and still fast.
Korzus started in São Paulo in 1983, part of the first wave of Brazilian metal bands that emerged alongside Sepultura and Sarcófago. Their early material, including "Sonho Maníaco", was sung in Portuguese; later records moved to English. Marcello Pompeu has handled vocals for most of the band's life.
The music has stayed close to thrash throughout, fast riffing and shouted vocals, with some crossover and hardcore in the phrasing. They still play the older songs alongside newer albums.
