&friends is the project of a New York–based producer and DJ working in a warm, melodic strain of house. The music leans on live-sounding percussion, acoustic and world-music textures and guest vocals, often built around collaborations — a habit reflected in the name itself. Records have appeared on labels associated with the organic and Afro-leaning house scene, and the DJ sets follow the same template, mixing hand percussion and vocal-led tracks into extended, gradually building runs.
