Cardinals are a guitar band from Cork, Ireland, who emerged in the early 2020s as part of a broader wave of Irish groups drawing on post-punk and traditional influences. Their songs pair jangling, melodic guitar arrangements with wry, plainly sung vocals and lyrics rooted in small-city life, and the arrangements often make room for instruments outside the standard rock line-up. They signed to Sony's Music For Nations imprint and released an EP that brought them wider attention beyond Ireland.
