High Wycombe five-piece pairing Charlie Rolfe's clean-to-scream range with synth-lined heaviness — post-hardcore scaled for big rooms.

As Everything Unfolds started in 2013 when guitarist Adam Kerr and Alex Paton began writing together as an acoustic duo in High Wycombe, England, briefly considering the name Beneath Burning Skies before settling on their eventual title. Charlie Rolfe joined shortly after as vocalist, giving the band its line-up and the sung-and-screamed contrast that defines its records.

Their music sits between alternative metal and metalcore, matching heavy guitar riffing and conventional breakdowns with layered synths and electronic-tinged textures, a combination that places them alongside both British metalcore bands and more melodic alternative rock acts. Rolfe's vocal delivery has been likened to a mix of Hayley Williams, Amy Lee, Becca Macintyre and Courtney LaPlante, moving between clean melodic lines and screamed passages within the same song.

The band self-released three EPs before signing to a label, Jekyll & Hyde in 2014, Collide in 2017 and Closure in 2018. In September 2020 they joined Long Branch Records, an imprint of SPV Schallplatten, and released their debut album, Within Each Lies The Other, in March 2021.

Their second album, Ultraviolet, followed in April 2023 and earned a nomination for Metal Hammer's Best Album of the Year. In August 2024 drummer Jamie Gowers died, a loss the band addressed publicly before returning to touring later that year alongside Bury Tomorrow, Make Them Suffer and Thornhill.

In June 2025 the band signed to Century Media Records and released the single "Set in Flow." A third album, Did You Ask to Be Set Free?, was announced for 2026, with keyboardist Jon Cassidy later stepping away to pursue other musical projects.
