Andy Frasco is a singer and piano player who worked in artist management as a teenager before deciding he would rather be the one on stage. The U.N. is the rotating band he has toured with for well over a decade, built around boogie-woogie piano, saxophone and a rhythm section that leans toward funk and blues-rock rather than long instrumental passages. Frasco's shows run on his own talking, joking and climbing over the barricade, and the group's reputation rests almost entirely on playing several hundred nights a year rather than on radio play. He also hosts a long-running interview podcast with musicians and friends from the jam circuit.
