Pennsylvania singer whose rasp-and-gravel delivery found a huge audience online before radio caught up — country songs delivered at full throat.

Warren Zeiders built his audience posting songs to social media before signing a record deal, recording early covers while studying business at Frostburg State University in Maryland. His original song "Ride the Lightning" circulated widely online, drawing more than 500 million views, well before radio attention followed.

His voice is the central feature of the music: a hoarse, pushed-hard baritone that he tends to sing at or near full volume, set against arrangements that lean on electric guitar and a rock-sized rhythm section rather than traditional country instrumentation.

The songs mostly deal with heartbreak, temptation and regret, delivered in broad strokes.

His debut album, Acoustic Covers, arrived in 2021 and included covers of songs by artists such as Tyler Childers and Lynyrd Skynyrd. After signing with Warner Records in 2022, he re-released "Ride the Lightning," which reached the country charts and was certified platinum in both the United States and Canada.

"Pretty Little Poison," his best-known single, gave him his first number-one on country radio in 2024 and lent its name to that year's studio album. A fourth album, Relapse, followed later in 2024 and was expanded into a double album, Relapse, Lies, & Betrayal, in 2025.
