Uncle Lucius are a band from Austin, Texas, active since 2005, working in a mix of southern rock, Americana and the Texas red dirt tradition. Their sound leans on Kevin Galloway's weathered vocals, electric guitar and organ, with arrangements that build slowly rather than hurrying to a chorus. They are best known for "Keep the Wolves Away," a song that circulated widely well beyond their regional audience and has become a fixture of their live shows. The group disbanded in 2018 before reuniting several years later to record and tour again.
