About Sneaky Sound System
Sneaky Sound System grew out of a Sydney party night run by Daimon Downey and Angus McDonald, who brought in singer Connie Mitchell. Mitchell's big, bright voice became the group's signature. The band released its records through its own label, Whack Records.
The self-titled debut album came out in 2006 and became a long-running fixture on the Australian charts, and the follow-up, simply titled 2, debuted at number one in 2008. Downey later stepped away, leaving Mitchell and McDonald as the core of the act. The sound draws on disco-flavoured house and glossy pop, and the songs are built around hooks meant to be shouted back.
