Saxophonist who performs in a full Bigfoot suit and plays it completely straight — funk and dance sets built around a horn, with an internet-sized audience behind them.
Saxsquatch performs entirely inside a Bigfoot costume and never breaks the premise on stage, playing saxophone over funk, disco and electronic backing tracks. The character built its audience online, starting with performance videos uploaded to YouTube in 2019, and a cover of Daft Punk's 'One More Time' was an early breakout clip.
A cover of 'You Don't Know Me' later aired on the television show Tosh.0, and by 2020 the act's videos were drawing several million views a day across social platforms, putting Saxsquatch among the top solo acts on the Pollstar livestream charts. The performer behind the suit had previously played saxophone in the Marcus King Band.
Live and streamed shows have carried names like the Saxual Healing Tour and the recurring 'Live From The Woods' broadcasts, which at one point ranked as Facebook's top recurring music stream. Collaborations have included an electronic cover of Hall & Oates' 'Maneater' with John Oates and a track with Half an Orange that was later featured in the video game Rocket League.
Touring has grown from club dates into full production shows, including a run with an added laser show and a later tour that sold out 27 dates across the United States. Off stage, the act has organized a costumed benefit concert paired with a food drive supporting a local hunger-relief organization.
