Louisiana-born, beard-and-baritone Nashville songwriter whose easygoing hits — 'Singles You Up,' 'Buy Dirt' — hide a serious craftsman's touch.

Jordan Davis grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana, in a musical family: his brother Jacob also works as a country artist, and an uncle, Stan Paul Davis, wrote hit singles for Tracy Lawrence including 'Today's Lonely Fool' and 'Better Man, Better Off.' Davis studied environmental science at Louisiana State University before moving to Nashville in 2012, signing with MCA Nashville in 2016.

His records sit on the pop-leaning side of mainstream country, built from warm, mid-tempo arrangements, a low and unhurried vocal, and lyrics that work in small domestic details rather than broad statements. That approach carried through his debut album, Home State, released in 2018 and produced by Paul DiGiovanni, guitarist for the band Boys Like Girls.

His debut single, 'Singles You Up,' written with Steven Dale Jones and Justin Ebach, reached number one on Country Airplay in 2018. Home State also produced 'Take It From Me' and 'Slow Dance in a Parking Lot,' the latter another chart-topper. His catalogue since has added 'Next Thing You Know,' 'Buy Dirt,' featuring Luke Bryan, and other album cuts.

'Buy Dirt' won CMA Song of the Year and picked up ACM nominations for Song and Single of the Year. Davis followed it with a self-titled EP in 2020, produced again by DiGiovanni, and with the albums Bluebird Days in 2023 and Learn the Hard Way in 2025, the former containing the number-one single 'Tucson Too Late.'

Davis remains a hands-on songwriter, writing much of his own material rather than relying solely on outside cuts. In 2022 he appeared alongside Tyler Hubbard and Josh Ross at the halftime show of the 109th Grey Cup in Regina, Saskatchewan, extending his reach beyond country radio.
