About Eagles
Eagles formed in Los Angeles in 1971 when Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Bernie Leadon and Randy Meisner came together while backing Linda Ronstadt. Early records leaned on bluegrass-trained banjo and stacked vocal harmonies. The arrival of Don Felder and then Joe Walsh pushed the sound toward harder guitar rock, and Timothy B. Schmit later replaced Meisner on bass.
Their Greatest Hits (1971–1975) became one of the best-selling albums in American history, and Hotel California (1976) took the band's songs about Californian excess to their peak. The band split in 1980 and reunited in 1994 for Hell Freezes Over, with Long Road Out of Eden following in 2007. After Frey's death in 2016, Vince Gill and Frey's son Deacon joined the line-up, and the band has since played Hotel California in full during a residency at the Las Vegas Sphere.
