Cold Steel Drumline at NC A&T University
The drumline of NC A&T's Blue and Gold Marching Machine, the HBCU band that won the Honda Battle of the Bands and ESPN's 2023 Band of the Year and has led the Macy's and Rose parades.
Cold Steel is the percussion section of North Carolina A&T State University's Blue and Gold Marching Machine, based in Greensboro. The section performs in the HBCU marching tradition, where the drumline plays extended cadences on its own as well as anchoring the full band, and where sections trade phrases in head-to-head exchanges. Snares, tenors, bass drums and cymbals carry the arrangements, with the cymbal line handling visual work alongside its part.
