Venezuelan band bending post-hardcore into polyrhythm and tropical percussion, built on years of relentless DIY touring rather than industry backing.

Zeta trace their start to 2003, when multi-instrumentalists Juan Chi and Dani Debuto formed the band in Lecheria, a small coastal municipality near Puerto La Cruz and one of the smallest in Venezuela. Drummer Chino Sandoval and bassist Antonio Pereira later joined to round out the lineup, and the group eventually relocated to Miami, Florida.

The band's sound leans on post-hardcore and post-rock structures built around dense, polyrhythmic percussion. That rhythmic base draws as much from Afro-Caribbean music as from punk, with guitars, shouted vocals and touches of 1970s-style psychedelia layered over the top to give the songs their atmosphere.

Onstage, Zeta build outward from a heavy percussive core, with the drummer anchoring the group while additional percussion parts extend across the other players. Guitars and vocals weave around that foundation rather than sitting on top of it, giving the live show a different shape from the recorded material.

The group has built its following through years of self-organised touring across the Americas and Europe, playing small venues and releasing music independently rather than through label deals or industry backing.
