About The Rolling Stones
The Rolling Stones formed in London in 1962 around Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and founder Brian Jones, initially playing covers of American blues and R&B. Jagger and Richards soon became a songwriting team, producing '(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction' and the run of albums from 'Beggars Banquet' through 'Exile on Main St.' that defined their rougher, blues-soaked sound.
Ronnie Wood joined on guitar in 1975 and has stayed since. Drummer Charlie Watts played with the band until his death in 2021, and 'Hackney Diamonds' in 2023 was their first album of original songs in nearly two decades.
