About Ryan Bingham
Ryan Bingham was born in Hobbs, New Mexico, and grew up moving around New Mexico and West Texas, riding bulls on the rodeo circuit before he started playing in bars. His 2007 debut Mescalito, made with his band the Dead Horses and produced by Marc Ford, introduced a rasping voice and songs about drifters, oil towns and border country.
He co-wrote 'The Weary Kind' with T Bone Burnett for the film Crazy Heart, winning a Golden Globe and a Grammy as well. Later albums include Junky Star, Tomorrowland, Fear and Saturday Night and American Love Song, moving between acoustic ballads and louder roots rock. He played the ranch hand Walker in the television series Yellowstone, singing several of his songs on the show.
