Manchester rapper with an unforced, conversational flow — UK drill's melodic wing, delivered like he's talking rather than performing.

Nemzzz was born Nemiah Emmanuel Simms on 28 March 2004 and raised in the Gorton area of Manchester, of Jamaican descent. His mother and uncle worked as beatmakers and his father sang reggae and bashment, and he began writing rap over YouTube instrumentals in 2018.

His music sits on the melodic edge of UK drill, built on sparse, bass-heavy production and a relaxed, half-sung delivery that stays low in volume and close to natural speech rather than pushing against the beat. He has been one of several younger Manchester artists pulling attention toward the city's rap scene.

Early tracks "Elevate," which got a video from GRM Daily in late 2021, and "2MS" in 2022 built his profile quickly, followed by collaborations including "No Refunds" with Stay Flee Get Lizzy and Knucks.

His debut mixtape, Do Not Disturb, arrived in March 2024 after singles including "8AM In Manny," which drew a cosign from Drake. Featuring Luciano and JayG, with a deluxe edition adding K-Trap, Headie One and Lil Yachty, it debuted at number 17 on the UK Albums Chart and number one on the UK R&B Albums Chart.

A second mixtape, Rent's Due, followed in March 2025, led by the singles "Cold" and "Bad Decisions" and featuring Central Cee and Kyle Richh, with a deluxe version adding D-Block Europe and Chy Cartier. It debuted at number six on the UK Albums Chart and number one on the UK R&B Albums Chart.
