DJ working the fast, hard, rave-facing end of techno — peak-time sets built for volume rather than subtlety.

Lilly Palmer, born Sonja Rauschenbach in April 1999, grew up in the Nuremberg area of Germany and began her career playing small bars and clubs in Zurich. She started out on the more melodic, deep-house side of techno before crowd reaction pushed her toward faster, harder material.

Her sets favour high tempos, driving kick patterns and rave-derived elements, big synth lines, vocal stabs and breakdowns built for large rooms, rather than the more restrained, hypnotic strain of the genre. That shift toward speed, now around 150 beats per minute, came directly from watching how audiences responded.

In 2022 she recorded a two-hour, 28-track Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1. The following year she performed a live set inside a satellite testing chamber at the European Space Agency, building the music around samples drawn from the agency's own sound archive.

Palmer signed to Armada Music and Kontor Records in 2024, releasing the track Hare Ram as her first output under the deal. She has since played venues including the Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel and transmitted a live techno set from the DJ Mag headquarters, alongside coverage in Mixmag and DJ Mag.
