Alter Bridge
Mark Tremonti's riffs and Myles Kennedy's range built into two decades of arena-scale hard rock — a post-Creed project that long outgrew that framing.
The band takes its name from a bridge near Tremonti's childhood home on Alter Road in Detroit. Signed to Wind-up Records, the group released the single "Open Your Eyes" in June 2004, the same month Creed's split was made official, and the debut album One Day Remains followed two months later, reaching number five on the Billboard 200 and going gold.
Blackbird, released in 2007, began a long-running partnership with producer Michael Baskette that has shaped the band's sound on most records since. It reached number thirteen in the US and was certified silver in Britain, and its reviews were markedly warmer than those for the debut.
AB III and Fortress extended that run of acclaim in 2010 and 2013, made around the members' other commitments. The Last Hero, in 2016, became the first Alter Bridge album since One Day Remains to reach the Billboard top ten, and the first to crack the UK top five.
Walk the Sky and its companion release Walk the Sky 2.0 followed in 2019 and 2020, ahead of Pawns & Kings in 2022 and a further self-titled album in 2026. Alter Bridge has sold more than five million records worldwide.
