Two Door Cinema Club
Northern Irish trio whose Tourist History riffs still do the work, bright interlocking guitars built for a field at sunset.
About Two Door Cinema Club
Two Door Cinema Club are Alex Trimble on vocals and guitar, Sam Halliday on lead guitar and Kevin Baird on bass. They formed in County Down in 2007 and took their name from a mispronunciation of the Tudor Cinema in Bangor. The French label Kitsuné released their debut, Tourist History, in 2010. Singles such as 'What You Know', 'Undercover Martyn' and 'I Can Talk' set Trimble's high, clipped vocals against fast, interlocking guitar parts and dance-floor drum patterns.
Later records moved toward synth-heavy pop. Beacon followed in 2012, then Gameshow in 2016, False Alarm in 2019 and Keep On Smiling in 2023. The early singles still anchor their sets.
